Content Marketing for Digital Healthcare Technology
We’re rounding out our summer series of industry insights with one of the first esoteric verticals we worked with: digital healthcare technology.
Though the mounting ubiquity of healthcare technology and telehealth treatment may lead some to believe the industry is recession-proof, this year has shown it is not. In July 2023 alone, Fierce Healthcare’s “workforce tracker” reports mental healthcare platform Headspace laid off 180 employees, telehealth startup TytoCare laid off 10% of its workforce, and health tech startup Biofourmis laid off 120 employees.
If you’re in the health tech ecosystem and are facing the challenge of suddenly making do with fewer staff and resources, we’re here to help — at least with the marketing side of things.
3 content marketing tips for digital healthcare companies
1. Keep up with the cutting edge
The digital healthcare landscape changes rapidly, which is both a challenge and an opportunity. Suppose you take measures to stay on top of news and emerging trends. In that case, you can repackage that information into valuable content your audience wants — and solidify your position as a thought leader tapped into the ever-changing current of events. Signing up for relevant digital healthcare newsletters is a great way to keep up to date (we like Health Tech Nerds, but there are many excellent alternatives in circulation).
2. Create content that’s accessible
In our experience, the intrinsic complexity of healthcare technology often means founders and C-suite executives are experts in their field. It can be tempting to create content that only reflects this well-earned expertise, but that approach can alienate less familiar audience members. Instead, showcase your team’s insight and skill with accessible language (explain all acronyms, even the ones you feel are obvious!) and real-life examples.
3. Cultivate social proof with case studies
Many types of written content work for marketing digital healthcare companies, but one of our top choices is the humble case study. Case studies aren’t typically as long or in-depth as white papers, but they are just as effective at communicating expertise — perhaps even more so. Case studies also have the built-in benefit of demonstrating your process and results, providing your audience with essential social proof and brand awareness.
